Asia Pacific Regional Meeting 2019

Sponsored Project of Gerald Choa Memorial Fund

We are deeply grateful to the Gerald Choa Memorial Fund for sponsoring the Asia Pacific Regional Meeting (APRM) in 2019.

The International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) has gained traction in Hong Kong over the years.
There has been an increasing number of students participating in IFMSA-related training programmes, processes and
appointments. This reflects the desire and ability of Hong Kong medical students to be involved in health issues beyond the
formal curriculum. It has been 8 years since Hong Kong hosted an IFMSA meeting and we are pleased to say that APRM
2019 has been a huge success. Throughout the 10-day event, we hosted over 250 medical students from across 15
countries and regions and organised panel discussions, a fair, a hackathon, social and cultural events and much, much more
with the help of 80 local medical students. We have received positive and encouraging feedback from both local and
overseas participants and we are further convinced that medical students in Hong Kong do have the desire and ability to
expand their involvement and influence beyond our curriculum and our city.

We are honoured to have played a part in building a
supporting and encouraging environment for students in the
region to grow, be inspired and motivate one another to
implement changes. It is only with the generous sponsorship
of the Gerald Choa Memorial Fund that all of this could have
happened. We would, therefore, like to once again express
our utmost gratitude to the Faculty of Medicine, Professor

                                                              journey.
