CUHK MEDICAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION EVENTS
The Chinese University of Hong Kong Medical Alumni Association (CUHKMAA) was
incorporated in 1992 with the aim of fostering and promoting friendship and fellowship among
graduates, undergraduates and teaching staff of the CUHK Faculty of Medicine. The
Association has held various extracurricular activities, such as career development talks and
intern survival workshops, since its inception.
Annual General Meeting and Annual Dinner
The joint Annual General Meeting and Annual Dinner of
CUHKMAA was held on 15 December 2018 at Chung Chi
College Staff Club, CUHK. More than 60 medical alumni
and their family members attended the event and shared a
delightful evening. The speaker for the evening was
Professor Justin WU (MBChB 1993), Chief Operating
Officer, CUHK Medical Centre. The topic was “CUHK
Medical Centre: What is its relevance for the medical
alumni?”
SFL Intern Survival Workshop
Some 120 medical interns turned up for the SFL Intern
Survival Workshop which was held on 20 June 2019.
Dr. Rutherford SIN (MBChB 2011), Department of Medicine
& Geriatrics, Tuen Mun Hospital, was the moderator of the
workshop. The students were given tips and advice on how
to prepare themselves for the world of internship and were
shown ways to develop effective communication with other
healthcare practitioners.
A number of medical alumni and guest speakers were invited
to share their experiences. They included
Mr. Wilson CHIANG, Advanced Practice Nurse, Department
of Medicine & Therapeutics, Prince of Wales Hospital;
Dr. Hazel WANG (MBChB 2018), Department of Surgery,
Tuen Mun Hospital and Dr. Helen KWAN (MBChB 2018),
ICU, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Dr. Stephen WONG
(MBChB 2009), Department of Radiology, Princess Margaret
Hospital and Mr. Ka Tsun TING, Clinical Psychologist,
Kowloon Hospital.
Dr. Xina LO (MBChB 2005), President of CUHKMAA, was
also present to give her encouragement to the new interns.
The SFL Intern Survival Workshop was a resounding
success, thanks to the staunch support of CUHKMAA.
