NGAssociate Dean (Alumni Affairs)Faculty of MedicineThe Chinese University of Hong Kong(MBChB 1989)We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our medical alumni and friendsfor their generosity towards the Gerald Choa Memorial Fund. We alsoappreciate the guidance provided by the Advisory Committeemembers, who ensure the funds are wisely allocated to deservingbeneficiaries. Since its establishment in 2013, the Fund has enabledmany students to engage in high-stakes research and clinicalattachments abroad, as well as support community service initiativesfor the underprivileged.In the past year, the Fund continued to facilitate learning beyond theclassroom. It sponsored the %u201cHong Kong Ethnic Minority Well-beingCheck%u201d, a new local project initiated by two medical students toenhance public understanding of ethnic minorities in Hong Kong andto promote their physical and mental well-being through screenings.An accompanying book will address global volunteering, healthcaresystems, and related topics.Additionally, the Fund supported the %u201cNepal Community HealthProject 2024%u201d, organized by Medical Outreachers Hong Kong. In itssixth year of Project Namtar and fourth year of Project Bharta, theyprovided health education, hygiene materials, and home birth deliverykits to villagers in Makwanpur district. This initiative aimed to improvehealth awareness and promote long-term behavioral change.3
